Prof. Lin was invited to deliver a professional development training workshop titled “Develop Innovative Libraries with Smart Technologies” at Taipei Public Library on July 24th.

The workshop commenced by tracing the historical evolution from traditional libraries to the "smart library" concept. Drawing upon extensive research experience, Prof. Lin then systematically summarized and presented the core concepts and key dimensions of a smart library. To bridge the gap between theory and practice, Prof. Lin showcased specific technology examples developed by MMLab, offering a concrete analysis of the innovative technologies (such as AI, Big Data, and VMAR) driving library advancement.

The latter half of the session focused on transformation strategies. Prof. Lin highlighted that smart technology is fundamentally reshaping the "services," "spaces," and "roles" of modern libraries. She also candidly addressed the critical issues that libraries must confront during this transition and concluded by offering forward-looking predictions on the future direction of smart libraries. This comprehensive training course, blending academic theory with practical application, provided frontline librarians with a valuable blueprint and innovative mindset for navigating future challenges.

為協助館員掌握科技脈動，台北市立圖書館於7月24日舉辦「智慧科技與圖書館創新發展」專業訓練課程。林維真教授獲邀擔任課程講師，從圖書館與科技發展的歷史脈絡出發，深入淺出地講解了圖書館從傳統型態演變至「智慧圖書館」的過程。並根據長期以來的研究經驗與成果，系統性地彙整並提出智慧圖書館的核心概念與關鍵面向。為了讓理論概念更貼近圖書館實務，也以研究室所研發的各種相關科技為例，具體分析了驅動智慧圖書館發展的各項創新科技（如AI, 大數據, VMAR）的應用，最後指出智慧科技正驅動圖書館在服務、空間與人物角色上進行根本性的轉型，並說明在轉型過程中圖書館必須面對的關鍵議題。受訓館員們肯定訓練內容專業紮實，獲得了應對未來挑戰的寶貴藍圖與創新思維。
