On April 24th, 2026, Prof. Lin was invited by the Assembly Affairs Museum (AAM) of the Legislative Yuan to deliver a special lecture titled “Digital Museums: Connecting Cultural Heritage, Smart Technology, and Visitors”. The session focused on how modern technology can breathe new life into "democratic footprints" and parliamentary archives.

A museum's mission is to preserve and display evidence of humanity and its environment for education and research. However, Prof. Lin noted that public expectations for museums have shifted. For an institution like the AAM, which guards vital parliamentary records, the challenge is moving beyond one-way displays to become a dynamic "medium" that dialogues with the public.

During the lecture, several key strategies were highlighted to transform traditional archives into interactive experiences:

• Smart Technology as a Tool, Not the Goal: Technologies like VR can recreate historic assembly halls, and electronic books can allow visitors to "flip" through delicate, digitized documents.
• Understanding the Diverse Visitors: A museum’s visitors are not a single group. They range from students and parliamentary assistants to civil groups and retired legislators, each seeking a different "takeaway".
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Prof. Lin recommended that even simple tools like volunteer logs or Google Forms can help a museum understand what its visitors truly care about, turning scattered feedback into valuable institutional assets.

At the end, Prof. Lin urged the AAM to view their archives not as static property, but as a dynamic resource that requires constant rediscovery through a "digital mind".
